But as tensions rise between Monsters and Humans, the King applies pressure on him to land the role on the Monster/Human feel good movie.
Turning to method acting he meets Atlas, a down on their luck Bookstore owner with perpetual eye bags, and an attitude to match Mettaton’s own.

Summary
(A neater, reheated iteration of a work I almost abandoned. Between the 10th Anniversary Undertale stream and Deltarune chapters, I found inspiration to return to it. We'll see how long that lasts.)
You have a new name after burning your old one, and the bridges that led to it. You simply go by Y now, and you are a financial advisor in what used to be a moderately busy tourist hotspot. West Ebbot and Greater Ebbot, a township and city within view of a grand lake and mountain, are husks of their former selves. You know better than to over-confidently think yourself an economic lynchpin, here at your humble banking job, but you do the best you can.
When the polluted lake gets cleaned up, it's too late for the tourism to return. Some years after though, something happens at the mountain that makes it the main attraction instead. The panic of pressure to preform is secondary to the relief of your assuredly continued usefulness, and therefore employment.
Money is necessary for goods and services. It's what society agreed to run on first and foremost, right?
Other sensations are luxuries.

But then your boss puts you on an outside contract, helping a certain monster superstar reach fame with humans, as well as be wise enough with his money to stay afloat.
On paper, your resume says you've got the skills to make it work. But there's more than numbers and charts to deal with in showbusiness, especially with an eccentric individual like Mettaton. And not everyone is friendly towards the new monster population.

Things have been off between you two, but he doesn't know what's been going on for you mentally, and you've been avoiding saying anything. Thinking it'll keep you from having to be vulnerable in front of Mettaton, you decide to pin all your tiredness and distress on the fact that you two haven't slept together in a while. He almost believes you, and you almost achieve your goal of having sex with him to distract him from how you behaved when he opened the door to you, but ultimately, you both realise that this isn't what you really want. Mettaton does his best to take care of you.

You work for Alphys, doing daily tasks and cleaning, working on minor projects here and there. One day, Alphys decided to drop a bomb on you. She had created the celebrity robot known as Mettaton. You had seen MTT before, not only in the Underground but on the surface as well. And, he was pretty hot.
You then have to work with said hot famous robot. And everyone is making jokes about your human-ness and why Mettaton suddenly wants to know everything about you.
