Qinghua is not having a great time.
It's been half a year since I drew these pages but rereading them reminded me how much it hurt to have SQH say these words.Also, some people were worried/angry on behalf of Alexander last chapter. Which is great, because it means my OCs are liked :D At least, Alexander is. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that violence is perfectly normal for demons, both as form of punishment and encouragement. MBJ wasn't doing anything, he would not have done to any other servant.
SQH is obviously now exempt from such treatment. The reason Loki was looking cross with MBJ was because it was unwritten rule that Alexander was as well. I don't think I will have the chance to explain it anywhere in the story so here it goes:
Alexander is a fae, who used to live in the fae court before he moved to the forest alone. Violence is not a part of fae culture [they're more passive aggressive.] The first time Alexander was victim of regular abuse was when he and Loki were captured. They made sure this wouldn't happen again.
Loki is a crossroads demon. She's more familiar with violence than her husband.
Having said that, it's not like they don't understand MBJ's behaviour at this point. They don't have to be happy about it, but they accept it.
