Summary
Ilya doesn’t know much about American football, and he doesn’t really care to learn more. It’s a ridiculous sport, if you can even call it that. Carry a ball to a giant end zone while running? On grass? With no goalie? Easy. So fucking easy. Try skating, try maneuvering a puck down slick ice, then try getting said puck into a net that’s only marginally larger than the goalie in front of it. Try not stopping the game every time someone gets hit. And, also, try doing that for 82 games—plus playoffs—every single year.
But he’ll take it easy on this Tom Brady guy. It’s not his fault that he’s probably pushing forty and still clinging onto the only thing he’s ever been good at. And besides, there’s still some camaraderie there, athlete-to-athlete.
