Summary
The summer of 1989 is supposed to be theirs.

Will scoffs, stepping closer to inspect the titles.

This is so incredibly beautiful. I am currently bawling. I was bawling on many occasions throughout this fic. My heart hearts, as someone who wholeheartedly will stand by what byler could've been, in canon and how it would've impacted our world, but also a young queer woman who is yearning for this special connection and love for every queer person who lives today/ And a very emotional queer at one. I'm lucky enough to live in a country where gay marriage has been legalised a bit under a decade ago, but the discrimination we face never died. I feel and will forever advocate for all af us to at least get the opportunity to live our lives more freely, and hopefully we all can exist freely in a world without having to be paranoid nor tortured for being who we are and loving who we love however we want to.
Needless to say, its obvious I loved ch25/the epilogue so so so much. I don't think I can even articulate everything. Obviously how much they've fought to be where they are now, after a logn fucking 28 years. Surviving and fighting out to exist and be recognised in this world in their identities, their careers, their lives and as themselves. Their relationships to everyone else/ Fucking incredible. I don't have to vocab to express how amazing and beautiful (how many times have I said this already lol) they alll have been to me. Bywheelclairmax obviously. Ted fucking wheeler. Holly/Mike. Jon and Will of course. Madwise. Byclair. Madwheeler. Henderhop. Jon and Mike, how did I almost forget. Also the career choices and the directions they all chose to go <33333. It sits with me so right.
oh and their marriage speeches. they hurt me so much they're so sweet and they're set. god fuck their professions of love and getting together. every single one has made me fucking 𝓢𝓞𝓑. ugh T^TThis is another byler fic that i think i've enojyed dearly, to my core (dare I say). Sex/Intimacy as something explored (in terms of what they mean and are between people) is something that has had a hold on me for a while, and I think whenever I stumble across a piece of media that does in fact explore what this means to their characters, and the bond they share, I will cling onto it for dear life. It means so much to me being aro/ace spec -- from the demi vibes I got from this paritcular version of byler, to what QPRs could mean to me, to distunguish how affection/itnimacy/love/sex are all different from each other and truly can be expressed in different ways, but being absolutely shitlessly beautifully with the people/person you call ur partner. I don;t think the world looks into it much, nor appreciates it as much as it should.
I know I've bascially sadi this 50 times already, but this is also something I'd truly feel and consider a queer narrative. A beautiful one at that. The hesitancy, the hope, the tough times, and the incredible ones that follow. It has reached out to my bare soul.
And I haven't even talked about the writing. I LOVED the pacing. I LOVED how their relationship had progressed. Smut (i'm not a frequenter on this, so that says something) and the fluff/ little intimate moments that followed after-- 𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓯'𝓼 𝓴𝓲𝓼𝓼-- Those were the sections that had the me in a chokehold. I cried with every single one. Their soulmatism is through the roof. What they mean to each other; I sincerely don't believe there are nor will be many to this level. It's so sickenly raw and soft and lovely and earnest adn real. They really try for each other. I know they will stick it out to the end. The world will end if they ever were seperated. That is unnegotiable.
OH GOD AND THE SYMBOLISM AND THE DETAILS FROM EARLY ON. HOW DID I FORGET.
my chest squeezed and twisted every time I read those little details. gneuinely haven't felt so much and so giddy for a long time.I'm sure i have more to say. I know I felt so much more emotion throughout this. Maybe I'll add it later. I should probably focus on getting ready for my exams tho lol.
God I don't want to part from this fic. Lord. Kill me know.
