Summary
Robin thought all this in the time it takes to blink. She almost felt it rather than thought it. She wondered if there was a word for that sensation—a blend of trust, and of the emptiness she felt whenever humidity filled the air… but Nami wasn’t yet on deck. It comforted her, oddly, to see she wasn’t the only one unsettled. Usopp looked lost—unconsciously so. Robin watched him as he stood, leaving Luffy and Chopper playing cards alone, and stared up at the gray sky heavy with clouds.
“That’s strange…” he murmured, scratching his neck with a worried frown.
“What is?” Chopper asked, growing nervous at Usopp’s tone.
“Nami said there’d be a storm…”
“And it does look like there’ll be a storm.”
“But not Nami…” Robin whispered to herself.Or -- After a shipwreck, Robin and Nami find themselves on a deserted island full of strange phenomena. Robin is traumatized, and her behavior frightens Nami, who tries to stay by her side as best she can, but she’ll have to face the possibility that Robin doesn’t want her help.

Summary
The endless dinner invitations allowed him to become more and more part of the life of little Mirai—now three years old—whom Asuma had left behind, along with cigarettes and lighters, without ever even meeting her.
And if he had met her, Shikamaru sometimes wondered, would Asuma have done the same? Would he still have gone from one mission to the next to protect the village from enemies clearly beyond the ordinary—enemies who would have likely killed him first, because he was the strongest and most dangerous? If he had seen how much Mirai resembled Kurenai, with those enormous red eyes that seemed to hold the entire world inside them, or heard her delicate laugh—would he have gone off to die anyway, giving everything up?
Wasn’t it Asuma who had taught him how important it is for a human being to find a life partner and dedicate oneself to them, to live together as one single thing, one single force and will, building a family to care for? Then why had he given it all up?

Summary
“You know” she barely whispers.
“Of course I know”
“Yes, no shit Sherlock, but how?!”
Nancy looks at her, digs through her. She can't believe that Robin, the same Robin who could see the subtlest truths, couldn't get there.
“Because, even if you’ve clearly forgotten, I am your friend, Robin. And I care for you. I wouldn’t miss the reason why one of my friends acts like she has an entirely different…kind of entertainment.”
“I wouldn’t call it that…” Robin says, after few seconds of embarassed silence.
“Whatever. Don’t you try to tell me you would have told me” she looks deeply hurt.
“Guess what, I really wanted to, Nance. I actually did, but…”
“You should all just stop hiding important things from me. I clearly don’t talk much about my feelings, but I’m sure you all know I’d take a bullet for you but you…you just don’t give a damn!”

Summary
Robin decided to destroy Vecna. It wasn't personal, just a way to support his friends. Nancy, on the other hand, couldn't have done otherwise. And even after evil has been defeated, the trauma remains, especially on those quiet days when she can't distract herself with anything but the sound of her conscience reminding her of her guilt.
Robin always thought Nancy was the detective of the group, but who will investigate Nancy herself?

Summary
"She loved Marceline and she felt it then, unlike anything she’d ever felt before, shattering her heart in all the right ways and building it anew, banishing any shape of rational thought from her mind until she was reduced – or elevated – to a thing that loved, and she didn’t mind. It terrified her, the strength of that feeling and the realization that it ruled over her more than she ruled over it."
in which Bonnie has feelings, she does, but feelings are hard and complicated and she rather ignore them until they punch her in the face

Summary
It was a hard thing for Bubblegum, being part of a Hive and then being alone. And it was a hard thing for Marceline, to be abandoned and feel unimportant. The two were a recipe for disaster, or a recipe for angsty love songs.

Summary
She had people to care for, and people to make, and a brother to protect, and a so-called boyfriend she didn’t know what to do with. She left short hair and shaking knees behind for good, or so she’d thought. It had been rather stupid to think she could change anything, that if she molded pieces of her own matter into the right shape it’d love her. She and Neddy was all she ever needed and all she’d ever get, and she’d be grown up enough for both of them.
