Summary
“I’m- I can’t convince myself to commit to a longer stay,” Robby admits, frustrated by it. “It’d be better for actually getting somewhere with antidepressants, I know, but I feel like once I take away the work and the bike and everything else I do… there’s a clock on how long I can be naked like that. When it runs out, if I’m not back on the right side, I’ll get stuck as nothing, forever.” Robby drops his face into his hand. “Why does this sound like The Little Mermaid?” he moans.
“Is this the kind of place where they throw a black bag over your head and smash your SIM card, or can I still talk to you?” Jack asks.
~After a scare on his road trip, Robby does two weeks of inpatient care in Wisconsin... and you'll never guess who he uses his phone time on~

Summary
The groceries beat Jack to Robby’s place, but not by much. The milk’s not even sweaty. There’s a good chance one or both of the house’s inhabitants are asleep when he opens the door, so he resists the urge to belt out a cancel worthy Ricky Ricardo impression. The curlicue-script-on-a-heart sentiment of it is definitely swelling in his chest, though. Home. This was almost his home, eleven years ago. He tiptoed right up to the threshold, then stumbled back. Now he’s powering through the door with about thirty pounds of freight per arm, because fuck multiple trips. Robby and the baby are waiting for him.

Summary
Robby’s laugh is plainly nervous. “Ah. Well. I always thought… I’d like to have a family one day. That I’d like to have a kid,” he says, specifically.
Jack drops the butterknife. Otherwise, his truest instinct is to plunge it into his own neck.

Summary
The first time the call goes to voicemail, Jack just hangs up with a sigh. At least Robby would see that he called. Know that Jack’s thinking about him.
It isn't until the fourth failed call that Jack starts leaving messages after the tone.
“Hey Rob, it's Jack.”

Korea, 1951. Captain 'Robby' Robinavitch, draftee and newly minted Chief Surgeon of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, just wants out of the hellhole tent he and Langdon have renamed from the Swamp to the Pitt. A new arrival, who's all hard smiles and too-capable hands, keeps him from falling too far into the dark.
Or, the M*A*S*H alternate universe I couldn't keep out of my head.

Summary
Dr. Michael Robinavitch doesn’t talk much about his childhood or how he came to live with his grandmother when he was a boy. How did a Jewish kid from Squirrel Hill end up doing a residency in emergency medicine at Big Charity, an inner city hospital in a predominantly Black city? Why did he return to Pittsburgh and apprentice himself to Dr. Montgomery Adamson, a Black doctor who started his career working with young Black men in the Hill District to help create the nation’s first EMS service staffed by trained paramedics? Where did his focus on social justice and his affinity for communities of color come from? "L'dor V'dor" is a character study that follows Dr. Robby's evolution from a precocious five-year-old to emergency room physician.

The Effects of Touch Intervention in Contact-Averse Patients: A Case Study by malicecharity

Summary
"Robby’s just a little… skittish, you know?” McKay said, nodding slightly, affirming the unimpeachable truth she spoke.
Jack blinked. “What do you mean?”
She glanced into the patient's room, then back at Jack, a quick burst of skepticism crossing her face. “Look at him,” she urged gently. “He looks like he wants to run through the wall Looney-Tunes style just to escape a hand on his arm.”
A revealing chat with McKay brings up some unexpected questions for Jack regarding Robby's apparent aversion to touch. Being of a scientific mind, he can't abide by his previous oversight. Naturally the only course of action is to embark on a rigorous, methodical investigation into the matter. For the sake of curiosity, obviously. No other reason.
