He knew he would in the end, though. So long as unforeseen mental and emotional hurdles didn't appear out of nowhere, Saps couldn't imagine this as an experience he couldn't handle.

After the Double Dungeon incident, Jin-Woo not only has to deal with the System, but the Monarch of Destruction who thrusts himself into the young Hunter’s life.
On the other side, we have Ashborn trying to remain calm as he watches his heir/adopted son being swept off his feet by the worst boyfriend material that an adoptive father could imagine.
We also have the Rulers utterly failing to remain calm and choosing to wallow in panic.
Also in the corner is the Architect who isn’t being paid enough to deal with all this but is intrigued despite himself.

He wants to run, but how long would that last? He can’t leave the server, but… surely there’s something he can do, right?
Turning yourself into a cat and finding peace in a feline retirement from villainy wasn’t his plan, but he can’t say he regrets it.

Annnnd there’s really no doubting it now.

Sanji tries to imagine Yonji carrying anything for him at all just to be nice. The daydream falls apart instantly, because Yonji only ever took things from Sanji to break them.
“Do you promise you’ll give it back?” he musters the courage to ask, clinging to the cookbook a kind old woman just sold him, unwilling to let it go without making sure. She had smiled and said she was certain her family’s recipes would be in good hands with him and Sanji doesn’t want to prove her wrong before he gets a chance to even try. “You have to promise.”
Zoro gazes down at him with that inscrutable look on his face he’s worn all day. He could probably take the book from Sanji pretty easily but he doesn’t yank it away or twist his wrist until he lets go. They just stand there, sizing each other up. Sanji’s nerves mount with every second but he doesn’t back down.
Yonji would have hurt him already and laughed about it. The first mate of the Strawhat crew simply says, after enough time that Sanji knows he’s taken it seriously, “Promise.”

Or people who don’t receive much attention from the chimeras will bring chimeras cookies the Garden. That way, even if they don’t have treats, the chimeras will still be happy to see them.”
“You speak of bribery.”
Her mouth dropped open wordlessly, then closed again as her nose scrunched. “I suppose you could look at it that way.”
“I understand now.”
This entire time, Mydei had failed to realise he was treating Phainon like a prized pet.
Food trends come and go in Okhema and the newest one, the chimera cookie, is no different. Before it fades back into obscurity, it leaves its mark on Mydei and Phainon’s relationship.

How terribly arrogant. Mydei grins, wild and prideful, heart thumping with what might be either adrenaline or anger. “Three sessions.” He agrees.
They say whoever attempts to make a muse out of Khaslana goes mad. Mydei thinks that’s fine. He wants less of a muse than he likes a challenge. Somewhere along the way, he falls in love.

The Black Tide has hit the outer reef of Castrum Kremnos. Amidst the threat of destruction, it is revealed that Mydei’s sea-witch “friend”, Phainon, can cry pearls - ones with the ability to neutralize the corruption. Mydei will not allow this fact to be taken advantage of by others.

“You won’t return the Coreflames,” Khaslana concludes through gritted teeth. “Fine. God-King Nanook, under the Rite of Communion, I challenge you to a duel!”
If you won’t give it, then I’ll damn well take it.
“You wish to seize the Coreflames from me,” Nanook marvels. When Khaslana doesn’t deny it, his mouth curls into a dangerous smile. “Very good. Khaslana of Aedes Elysiae, I accept.”

Summary
When Phainon was a little boy, his best friend Cyrene, went missing in the woods.
Bordering the town of Aedes Elysian, there was a dense forest, said to be full of magic. And in that forest, stood an old castle occupied by a beast. Phainon has always thought the castle was somehow tied to his friend’s disappearance. So when his parents, led by unfortunate circumstances, get indebted to the Lord of the castle, Phainon decides to take their place.
However, when he gets to the castle, instead of a beast, he meets Anaxagoras, the castle’s chamberlain.
Anaxa sets some rules for him to follow. (You already know number one and two.) Rule number three: Do not inquire about the eyepatch. Rule number four: All rooms are up for exploration, except for the west tower. As Phainon works to pay off his debt, he tries to uncover the secrets of the castle.
A fantasy AU with a premise inspired by Beauty and the Beast, Bluebeard, and many more.
