They will be uploaded after the source material is completed, but reading ‘invisible string’ should not be required to understand. In other words, they would work just fine as standalone one-shots.

He looks at me for a long moment, brows furrowed, and finally says, “It was Harry’s comment, wasn’t it? About sleeping with a girl at uni?”
“Umm… I dunno,” I lie. “Come on.” I head down the stairs without looking back at him, eager to get the hell out of here.
I make my way into the kitchen, where I can hear my mum cooking dinner.
“Oh, Charlie! Feeling any better?”
“Uh... I’m actually going to go to Nick’s tonight… if that’s okay.”
Mum looks thoroughly displeased. Tori appears from the front room, glancing back and forth between mum and me.
“Charlie… you know how I feel about mid-week sleepovers…”
Nick appears in the doorway, my backpack slung over his shoulder. He looks concerned again. Tori does too.
“Uh… well actually… it’s just that… I kind of need to…” Mum looks at me expectantly, her eyebrows raised. She looks irritated. “I need to use my safety plan tonight,” I quickly say. Dad also shows up out of nowhere. Great.

Six of them went back to Dema, and only two came out alive — so as the takes in the crumpled red robe on the farthest side of the room, Torchbearer can only hope that it was worth it.
Even though that's not Clancy anymore.
Not-Clancy. The Bishop. Nova. Names, titles, fates mean nothing in the face of reality - he's just kidnapped a Bishop. This was, for all intents and purposes, a bad idea. Uncharted territory.
Yet here he is, neatly hidden away in this cabin, watching the body of a Bishop - the body of his friend - and trying to wrestle his conviction and his fate and his guilt, pulling at one last strand of hope that even though that's not Clancy anymore, maybe, just maybe, it can become him again.

Summary
On Saturdays and Sundays from 10-2, Charlie sets up his pokey little stall at the Daffodil Market and does his absolute best to sell his wares. It's not exactly easy and he more often than not spends more on his stall rent than he actually makes back, but it's worth it to him to have the mental break from the corporate grind that is his office job.
