"Edwin?" A tentative hand was placed on his shoulder, startling him. Charles retracted his hand in a flash. Edwin had half a mind to chase the gentle touch of his best friend, but the other half seemed too keen on being foolishly preoccupied with all things Hell.
He was exhausted. Incredibly, tremendously, excruciatingly tired. He should've allowed Charles to drag him away from the memories. It would've been preferable to making him witness Edwin in this state — unfocused, unstable, utterly unreliable. He was out of his depth just from looking for an item.
And quite frankly, feeling like a helpless toddler was the last thing Edwin needed at the moment.

The thought made him bite his lip, before remembering he had a project to do. He wiped his face with his hands, and turned back to his project partner.
Some of the party has witnessed this too, but chose not to question it. Not even Will himself. He'd noticed Mike was a little more touchy than usual, defensive when the group teases Will, even had a soft, relaxed voice when it came to talking with Will that he wouldn't use with anyone else. Will thought that maybe, he's just making sure that he's okay after the events of him going missing and being possessed.
But he doesn’t think that was the reason why Mike was staring at him while kissing El at a school dance.

Will releases her hand, even as they walk out of the gym doors together. "Works out for me," he tells her, "I have that project for art I have to finish up anyways." He pauses, hesitates. "Will you be okay without me?"
Max takes a breath, and then gives him a shaky smile, one that doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I'll have your tape," she says, wiggling the wires of her headphones. "See you after school."
