Because Yuri hasn’t crafted a confession beyond you’re cool, i’m cool, what if we were cool together? in a romantic way in case it wasn’t clear because apparently i have a massive fucking crush on you. who would’ve thought? and that accompanied by its lackluster form of an Instagram DM is just asking for a rejection. Yuri would reject that type of confession. Unless, of course, it came from Otabek because it’s Otabek. In fact, it would solve a hell of a lot of his problems if he got something like that from Otabek.
“B-Because!” he splutters helplessly. Mila, unimpressed, makes flapping chicken-wing motions at him. Yuri is going to rip her hair off with his teeth.

Jon snaps his jaw shut and then the window. He watches the way Damian’s socked feet pad along the carpeted floor, boots carried in one hand. There are so many things he knows about Damian–which hand he favors, the feel of his blade against Jon’s skin, the way his brow furrows ever so slightly in annoyance when Jon thwarts one of his plans–but he’s learning now that there are so many things he doesn’t know about Damian too. How he takes his shoes off in his apartment, how he organizes his books. He treats each piece of knowledge like a crumb of food and he’s starving and he wonders how many Damian will let him gather in his hands.
In which Justice Lords Jon escapes into another universe following the death of Superman. He finds that in this universe Damian and Jon aren’t just on good terms, they’re partners, in every sense of the word. He wonders what that means for him and his Damian.

Summary
Kunimi might not be interested in soul mates, but Yuutarou is. He chalks it up to the sense of romance that Kunimi obviously lacks.
He probably wouldn't care so much that his best friend doesn't care about the whole concept if he wasn't still wishing that Kunimi belonged to him in that way. That's been true since they were children—and for every romantic tale, he's heard about how important and precious soul mates are, he pictures Kunimi.
It's stupid, and by seventeen, he should have grown out of daydreaming about his best friend already. Soul mates don't change just because you want them to because the person you think you want to spend your life with isn't the one the universe picked out for you.
The thought on its own makes Yuutarou's heart sting in his chest—he tries not to think about it too much. He tries not to wonder who his soul mate could actually be, how anyone could match him better than Kunimi does.
