'Laurent walked over to him, and stopped just in front of Damen. Damen felt the hair on his arms rise, as if the temperature had suddenly dropped. “I -- I don’t know why I ran.” Laurent said.
“It’s understandable,” Damen said, gently.
Bright blue eyes looked directly at him. “You came for me.”
Damen felt a faint prickle at the back of his neck, but he hardly noticed it, “You knew I would.”
“Did I?” He said, and then reached out to touch Damen’s arm. “Thank you.”
Laurent’s gaze was intense, Damen was trapped in it, and before he realized it, Damen was leaning down. He felt the warmth of Laurent’s hand on his arm seep into his body. Despite the drop in temperature, Damen was burning hot, feverish, his head swam.'

But sometimes, they aren't too sure if Stiles loves their captain as much as their captain does Stiles.-In which Boyd and the rest of Derek's college football team think Stiles is breaking Derek's heart and is leggy brunette when in reality they are two losers hopelessly in love and while Stiles is a brunette, he's very much male and his legs fail at normal limb functions.

Derek is sitting on the couch when Stiles shuffles into the dorm room. He heaves out a dramatic sigh just in case his XL sweatpants and XXL hoodie, accompanied by the slouch bordering on ninety-degree angle that his spine has taken on, doesn’t adequately convey the message. Just to ensure his exhaustion and heavy workload is truly received, Stiles drops his thick backpack to the ground and stares at Derek sharply as it thunks loudly.
Slowly, Derek canvassases his gaze from Stiles’ face, down to the backpack, and back up. “Hi, baby,” the werewolf greets, his voice dripping with the strange mix of irony, fondness, and casualness that clings to every pet name used between them.
Stiles stares thoughtfully at his dorm mate’s pretty, pretty face before eventually deciding that even those eyebrows and jawline aren’t enough to make up for his five thousand word essay due tomorrow, along with the seventy pages of reading. He whines loudly and pouts, dropping onto the couch with his head on Derek’s shoulder. “You’re rich, right?”
Derek snorts softly. “I’m not paying for someone to write your essay.”

Summary
Trust was a luxury Laurent couldn't afford in abundance. Laurent had mastered the art of letting go where the protection of his heart was concerned, simply because tired, fragile, battle worn things needed extra careful and cautious handling. And protecting himself was no one's business but his own.
Damen was the walking, talking metaphor of 'wearing heart on sleeves'. Privileged upbringing did not prevent him from acknowledging or appreciating real and good things. And he would fight anyone and everyone, even Laurent himself, to give him a chance to finally be with someone who makes his easily swayed heart strong and rooted.

Any dregs of self-respect Stiles thought he had have gone up in smoke in the wake of Pretty Man turning to leave, because he looks fantastic. Better than Stiles could have hoped to imagine. Add that to the obvious intelligence, the ease with which he bantered, the infuriatingly sexy/sexily infuriating cockiness, and the tenderness he displayed for his dog and he's pretty much the most perfect person Stiles has ever met.
Great. Good. It is so awesome to know that the complete package apparently exists. Stiles lives for knowing things like that about unattainable, super-hot dog park people.

"A feeling began to come over Herode, something akin to dread, as he asked. "Are the flowers for the King of Akeilos?"
"Yes." Laurent said without inflection, after a slight hesitation. "I- last night the King and I were having a discussion and I said some things that were... less than diplomatic. It's important at this stage, for both our countries, that Damen and I be as cohesive as possible and project stability. We can't afford distractions, and I want to smooth this matter over as quickly as possible."
"I see." Herode said. "So you, the King, have come yourself, after dark, to collect a bouquet of flowers with hidden meanings... all for the sake of international relations?"
