But if he had been asked, Ilya would have approved of this prank. He would have authorized it, given Cliff and Vicky his seal of approval, perhaps even helped orchestrate it.

    Any other day, Ilya might have been happy to play along.

    But, in perfect dramatic irony, it had not happened any other day. It had happened today. And, cherry on top, of course the rookie had to walk in when Shane was already freaking out about Ilya saying his name.

    Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.

     

    In 2017, Shane Hollander spirals and proposes to his boyfriend of 4 days (or 7 years, or 9 years, or not his boyfriend at all, depending on how you look at it), which leads to a lot of plans, weird theories in the Montreal Voyageur locker room, some Twitter drama, and Ilya Rozanov entering his WAG era.

    It moved.
    Just a little. Just enough. It slid maybe an inch—barely more than a breath—and something underneath it caught the light.
    Alex squinted. Sat up straighter. Leaned a little over his desk.
    Was that… ink?
    No, come on. That had to be a shadow or something. A stray pen mark? A coffee stain? But as Henry turned slightly, it caught the light again. Definitely not a coffee stain.
    Alex’s jaw dropped.
    Was that a tattoo?
    No. No way. Not Henry Fox, HR's golden boy, the man who breathed punctuality and probably had emergency spreadsheets laminated in his sock drawer. Mr. Regulation Tie Length. Mr. "Let's Circle Back On That."
    But it was a tattoo. Or the start of one. A black curve just under the cuff. A line. A flick of something—like a wing? Or a piece of script? Hard to tell. But it was there.

    Or Alex thinks Henry is attractive but boring until he discovers more and more of his tattoos
