Summary
Shuichi can only yell at Kaito to stop as the taller man begins to pull Kokichi in an attempt to get him off the refrigerator, but what happens instead is that Kokichi’s entire body weight is pulled forward, and with it, so is the fridge.
“Oh, fuck—” Kokichi says, and Shuichi feels his soul leave his body when the refrigerator topples forward, bringing Kokichi down with it.
(OR: Kokichi wants to prove that he's actually not that short; he's a bit idiotic, and Shuichi and Kaito are amused until they aren't.)

His body shaking, Makoto’s eyes drifted to Kyoko’s burned hands. He recalled that Kyoko had once mentioned that she had made a conscious decision not to have her scars treated. In other words, it may have been possible to remove them, but Kyoko had deliberately chosen not to. She wanted those scars, because she couldn’t bring herself to erase the reminder of Yui Samidare, and the ‘mistakes’ she had made that had cost Yui her life.
But did Kyoko really need them anymore?
Makoto breathed in deeply, but it didn’t stop himself from trembling.

“It’s fine! Don’t get up!” Makoto’s laugh follows, a little high-pitched with nerves. “Just didn’t use enough butter for the first one!”
Mm, so he’s cooking, then. Probably pancakes, given the hour, and also the fact that it’s one of the only recipes Makoto can consistently get right. Though his first couple pancakes usually come out a bit rough, as is standard. Kyoko yawns and rubs her eye with the back of one hand, pondering whether or not she should get up and check on him anyway, then decides it’s too warm under the covers to bother. Besides, for all that the smell of smoke had (admittedly) activated Kyoko’s fight or flight a little, Makoto’s quick reassurance had relaxed her.
She turns onto her side and dozes until she’s woken again by the soft sound of the bedroom door opening. Makoto definitely made pancakes; she can smell the sweetness of the batter and the saltiness of the butter, as well as the slightly more savoury scent of fried eggs.
