Summary
Sometimes, it's peaceful between ferries. Usually during the off-season. So anytime that's not summer or Christmas or any long weekend or holidays. It's never off-season during the summer. If people aren't coming for the ferry, they're coming to visit their own boat that lives at the docks that surround the terminal. There's multiple yacht clubs just around the corner. A golf course. Hiking and mountain biking and lakes and the town of Arcadia Bay is exit zero on the highway. Further up are the mountains filled with even more activities and tourist traps and it seems like too many people find themselves in Arcadia Bay before making the trek up.
The circus isn't going to help.

He’d been told he was too much since he was a kid, he had too much energy or he was too loud or he needed too much love and comfort, or he… the examples were endless.
Could you maybe shut up for once?
All three of his past partners had broken up with him because he was too much. He needed too much reassurance and attention. He talked too much. He loved too much. Vessel was too much of everything. He couldn’t be normal about anything. He loved too deeply, shoved it in the face of his partners to the point of pushing them away.
With a deep breath, he nodded his resolve to himself. He was going to be normal about something for once in his life. He didn’t have any clue how to do that, but he was going to figure it out.
It was either that or lose II.

Summary
He can tell that something changed during the night; the windows of his bedroom, which had cast a golden sheen over the room the evening before, let the morning sink inside with a gray cast.
IV blinks the sleep out of his eyes and yawns as he rolls over to face the windows. A furrow settles itself across his brow as he sees a flash of white from the street below. He sits up from his warm blankets and peers outside: a layer of snow coats the sidewalks. Footsteps intersperse the walkways, from those poor folks who’d had to leave their houses in the early morning to get to jobs, and a slushy liquid coats the roads where cars have already passed through in the dawn light.
IV shivers.

Summary
IV is trans but tries to hide it the best he can. He's been hurt before by people who can't accept him the way he is.
When he gets his period on a day he gets to hang out with the band, something happens that gives away his secret. As scared as he is, he finds that he has more in common with the band than he thought, and acceptance is only possible when he allows himself to be who he truly is.
