When the fic started teasing out the academic politics of the Yiling Laozu research project I knew I was in for a good time; when they started using the need to quarantine in order to not expose Wei Wuxian to modern diseases as a plot device for both the story's interpersonal and overarching political development, I knew it would be generational.
