Annie never expects much for her birthday. With it being smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season, it’s pretty much always been overshadowed by everything else: Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years. Kids from school almost never came to her birthday parties because her parents usually had them during Christmas vacation, when everyone was out of town and visiting family. Though she supposes it’s likely that a lot of them never would have come anyway, regardless of what part of the year her birthday was in.
She's planning to just spend her birthday alone, like she usually does, but when Jeff finds out he decides it's time for the usual plan to change.
Takes place just after the end of season 4.

"Fine," he muttered, his voice breaking. "Neither am I."
