He seemed alright in the beginning, pretty normal (or as normal as one can be in this new world they had just joined, apparently). He introduced himself as Ranboo and talked about the world around them. Of the abandoned projects as if they weren’t chilling Aimsey’s bones to observe. They seemed to be snapshots of what once was.

"This is Ilya Rozanov," Hayden says. "You might have to hospitalise him if you want to play center anytime soon."
"Noted," Shane says, sipping his drink to avoid that intense gaze.
"You are Shane Hollander, yes? I have heard of you."
"Yeah?" Shane feels himself bristle. His acceptance into a men's league last year as a trans man did get some low-level coverage. He stands straighter, ready for some insult about -
"Mm, yes. My friend took me to see final of your league last year. You scored big hat-trick to win game." He takes a slow sip of his clear drink. "But backhand is a bit weak."
"Weak backhand?" Shane scoffs.
"Yes. Is okay, I will teach you. Maybe let you play center once or twice during season."
"That's not happening." Shane feels anger running under his skin, but relief as well, that the guy was just chirping his hockey skills. "Thanks for your generous offer, though."

Rozanov made a dismissive noise. “No, no, I will pick you up. Send me your address.”
“I’m not giving you my home address.”
“Why not!”
“Because you’ll probably post it on social media to psych me out before our next game.”
That made Rozanov laugh. “It is good idea,” he said. Stopped laughing. Started again. Blew out a breath like he had to get himself together. “I might do this to you,” he allowed, “but you have nice boyfriend living with you now. I would not do this to him. You are safe.”
In which Ilya Rozanov adopts himself into Scott and Kip's household and refuses to leave. Kip finds this very sweet. Scott is going to kill him.
