It takes almost thirty minutes of listening to Maya rant about the latest instance of terrible writing on the Steel Samurai reboot for Phoenix to snap.
“But the worst part is the potential, Nick, the potential!! Those stupid network executives absolutely ruined what could have been—“
“Maya. Please, for the love of god, stop stalling.” Phoenix groans.
The line falls silent for a moment, and when Maya speaks again she sounds sheepish.
“It’s just…” She goes on, voice turning serious again. “You’re not gonna like this.”
Phoenix swallows, stomach suddenly twisting in knots.
“Who’s been accused of murder now?” He jokes weakly.
“It’s nothing like that…” Maya says. “It’s, um. Well.”
“Wh- hey, what is it? Is everyone okay?” Phoenix asks.
“Edgeworth has a boyfriend!” Maya blurts.
Phoenix blinks at the surface of his desk.
“Edgeworth. Has a boyfriend.” He repeats blankly.

“成步堂，”他开口呼唤道，声音刚好能够被对方听到。那道蓝色身影的主人蓦然顿住，然后迅速转过身来。
“嘿，御剑，”成步堂脸上挂着灿烂的笑容，“我以为我找不到你了呢，正打算给你发个消息。”
“怎么了，成步——”
他的话语戛然而止，男人的名字梗在他的喉咙深处。成步堂快步走到他身边，但御剑只是愣愣地盯着他。随着他们之间的距离逐渐缩小，他的视线牢牢锁定在某个越来越清晰的地方。
在成步堂流畅的下颌线下面，明蓝色衣领衬托的上方，有一道吻痕：一个非常明显，有些发紫的痕迹。它椭圆形带着血色的斑痕烙印在小麦色的肌肤上，位置刚好处在他脖子一侧的颈动脉周围。
御剑的大脑像个坏掉的齿轮一样咔咔作响，试图运转，然后轰然熄火。
“御剑？”
