Summary

Tim has become so good at being alone, he can almost pretend he isn’t desperate for the unconditional love and companionship that a soulmate would guarantee.
It would be nice, Tim thinks, to have someone in his life who actually wants him. Someone who won’t leave every chance they get. Someone who enjoys his presence instead of merely tolerating it. Someone for whom he isn’t an obligation.
Still his wrist remains blank.
Until it doesn't.

Sir Tovias of Hyrule, knight captain of the Royal Guard, has a problem. Two problems, really. First, the soothsayers' predictions of an oncoming Calamity that can only be stopped by a princess without powers and a sword without a bearer. Second, the strange boy running about Castle Town causing no end of mundane trouble to its citizens.

Maybe it was an impulse for Agent Phoenix to drag John Juniper from the rubble of Zoraxis Defense. Maybe it was empathy that made them offer him a place to recover. But keeping him hidden from the watchful gaze of the EOD, including their handler? They were still trying to figure that one out, but at least he made for good company.
