Wei Ying didn’t mind sleeping out in the wild, as long as he had his Lan Zhan by his side. Until one night when the inn owner of a place they had certainly never been to before exclaimed “You want to rent another one?? You’ve already wrecked the first one!?”

He writes back: what’s that supposed to be?
NHS: just listen!
WWX: fine! gosh…
He scrambles from the couch in pursuit of his headphones, and finds them beside his empty hamper. Right. I’m also supposed to do the laundry. Well, that can wait until after I’ve eaten.
He gets back on the couch, pulls the headphones on, and connects them to his phone.
NHS: don’t forget your food
Wei Wuxian shakes his head, but takes the container, and hits play.
First there is some sort of deep hum like a sigh. “You are … such a good boy!”
Wei Wuxian yelps and nearly drops the food container into his lap. His fingers fumble to turn off the audio. “Fuck! Fuckfuckfuck!” There was more, but he didn’t hear it over the racing of his heart in his ears.
What the hell?!
