Summary
“Gotham can’t be explained. Not by physics, not by political science, not by philosophy, and certainly not by an independent-study humanities student at Gotham University who just wants to graduate and get the hell out of here.”
Genii Locorum—the spirits of various places—tend to fall into distinct categories. But a hapless student discovers that Gotham doesn't obey those (or any other) rules.

Summary
Gotham hates magic... which is weird, because it's the official magical sinkhole of the Eastern Seaboard. So when a ghost and a new magic user come to Gotham to search for a lost brother, they know they'll probably face resistance. What they aren't expecting is for the reality-bender's power to interact with Gotham's countermeasures. Much confusion ensues.

Summary
The Butler’s Pantry exists between worlds as a refuge and resource for those who have devoted their lives to the service of a family. Butlers, housekeepers, governesses and majordomos from across the dimensions can find solutions to their families’ problems here.
Alfred Pennyworth has used the resources of the Butler’s Pantry many times. Phil Coulson has not.

Created from this prompt: Coulson & Alfred - long-suffering mutual commiseration. It's... sort of that?

Summary
“I need your help,” Tim says. “I need - “ again, the liquid sloshes in his cup. He releases it to rub his hands over the fabric of his pants. “I need your help.”
“Do you?” She is usually not the one approached for these sorts of things. Jason gets the calls, and Roy charms his way into information. She is merely a companion, one that most people stay away from. “What sort of help do you require, Tim Wayne?”
There’s a flinch, so minute anyone else would have missed it. He lets out a harsh breath and grabs for his drink once more. He yanks his mask down in one swift motion and brings the straw to his lips. He drinks like someone who hasn’t had water in days, with a single minded determination Kori has seen plenty of men use to go at bottles in dark lit bars.
His face is flushed. The red comes through in blotchy patches made worse by the stark white that splatters the lower left of his jaw. On his cheeks are two reddened slashes. They start at the corners of his lips and cut up towards his ears in diagonal lines.
“Sanctuary,” he says, when his cup is empty and his mask is up once more. “I seek sanctuary.”

Fabulous take in Tim/Junior. Amazing picture of the outlaws supporting each other, and T/J, through their trauma without judgement. Bruce has fucked up a lot, and is mostly Sir Brooding In The Background Of The Narrative. Which is fine, because fuck Bruce.

Amazingly drawn Tim, from eerie kiddo to red atheris to emotionally battered teen who is realizing how much he’s been used. Incredible world-building, with an eldritch Gotham Tim was born to, a magic lineage that the Wayne’s don’t understand. The YJ relationships are so so vibrant and real - kids who went through the fire together and were forged into an unbreakable family. The BatFam is broken and hurting and so so well characterized. I can’t wait for more!

Summary
“To kick off our curriculum, I’d like to introduce you to an idea that I learned when I was in fifth grade,” says Ms. Miller. She’s only twenty-three, this is her first job out of college, but to an eleven-year-old Jason Todd she seems as wise and worldly as a magi. “There was a writer named John Gardner who once said there are only two kinds of stories." She pulls up a Word document on the Smartboard and Jason reads the two lines, written in capital letters:
SOMEONE GOES ON A JOURNEY
A STRANGER COMES TO TOWN
A thrill runs through Jason. He immediately knows why this idea always stuck with Ms. Miller. It seems so profound, so important. Something that every student of the written word should know. And that’s exactly what Jason is, and what he always plans to be.
