Summary
In this world the gods and goddesses all have mortal brides. Each time time a bride is reborn it is up to the the seers for the church to find them and bring thing to where they can meet their divine soul mate. No one can refuse the seers be them a king or a beggar.
Impulse was born a slave and is sure there must be some kind of mistake.
Jimmy and Scott are happily married and not interested in a god no matter how cute he is.
Joel is determined to make a name for himself and doesn't need the god of dreams getting in his way.
Cub just wants to help people but maybe a god could need his help even more.
Ren is used to getting what he wants and doesn't know how to handle no longer being in control of his own fate.
All these a more (perhaps) will get their path in life changed.

Summary
He pressed himself further back into the corner, a snarl coming to his lips. The eye creatures never reacted to his shouting, but they did hesitate when he growled. But when the lanky aliens came around the corner, they didn't so much as look at him. Instead, they were focused on what looked like a stretcher, the kind that ambulances used back on Earth.
Sitting atop it, perfectly still, was another human.
Scar felt his heart stop in his chest. It was impossible. There was no way there was another human on the ship. It had to be a trick of some kind, a robot made to look human, or a statue, or something. This was some sort of experiment, a test to see how he would react to seeing something that looked like his own species.
But they looked so lifelike.

Summary
Joel spent most of his life alone. Hybrids were hunted, seen as inhuman. Trusting others was a risk, and he had seen enough to know better. So he spent his time scavenging and “borrowing” from hunters as he traveled from place to place, never truly finding a safe place to settle.
That was until he was caught. Being taken by hunters changed everything. He comes back to a life full of pain, cages, and cruelty. That was until he met Etho.
Etho wasn’t scared when he was captured again. He had grown up in the system, he knew what he was getting into when the hunters pinned him down and took him to a cage. He knew his friends, who referred to themselves as the Hermits, a group of hybrids hiding safely away from hunters, would come save him.
So when he meets Joel, he promises him that he’d get him out. Joel struggles to trust him, but as the two survive captivity together, Joel realizes that maybe he could learn to trust again. Maybe a friend was something he actually did need in life.
