Sky felt, more than saw, his earrings fully activate, the carved red hoops glinting as they shielded his body from the force of the deadly magma.
He definitely saw the utterly filthy look Wild threw them, though, and couldn’t quite suppress the urge to snort at how grumpy he looked, all swaddled in layers of enchanted rock-slash-metal.
“Something wrong?” Sky asked innocently, tilting his head at just the right angle to be obnoxious.
Wild rolled his eyes, clanking his way past and muttering something to himself about goddesses and favouritism.

Claude doesn't get it. Sure, the healing his crest gives him is handy. But no one talks about the drawbacks. As far as he's concerned, Fódlan's obsession with crests is overrated. Blood trickles freely down the side of his face and fire finally returns to his eyes. Her heart leaps. Zoro is back. Her lips twitch up as Zoro links their hands together, grip tight and determined.
“Together.” The word slurs from his blood stained lips.
Vivi nods, squeezing his hand, and steps forward. Together. They’ll fix this. They’ll save their nakama.
