Raiko was raised to become a wife. That was what her father always told her. She had no other purpose in life but to bring honour to her family, because she dared to be born a woman. Her parents were old, and they could only have her. Thus, when the Fire Lord’s Council sent a letter to all the noble families of the nation, stating that they ought to present their daughters because the Fire Lord was looking for a wife, Raiko’s father saw his golden chance. She obeyed like a good daughter, but Raiko wasn’t naive or submissive at all. She wouldn’t become someone else’s wife without a fight.
And Lord Zuko had no idea that she would become his favourite pain in the ass...

Summary
By 2100, the world was superpowered. Heroism was an industry of the grandest proportions. Civilisation was thriving. The human population had never been happier or safer.
That was what the status quo would like you to believe, anyway.
Modern society was not salvation for many, but a living hell. Mutants faced discrimination. People were ranked and judged for strength, or lack thereof. In rare cases, the Quirk hurt the person wielding it. In even rarer cases, a person may have been born Quirkless and made invisible by the very system built to protect them.
The discarded son of Japan’s Number One Hero, presumed dead, forever watching from the shadows and half destroyed by his own flames, existed within that system.
The niece of a cult leader who spouted fanaticism on a Quirkless commune, stirring fear in his followers with the demonism of superhumanity, also existed within that system.
He saw her first. She saw him better. Together and entwined, they planned to rewire society itself through the infamy of the League of Villains and the twisted mess of their minds, because if Heroes couldn't fix the world, they would.
