Blake seemed amused as she slipped in and pecked Yang on the cheek causing Yang to smirk at her and cease paying attention to the wiring and it slammed into the next student's face.
“Ack Yang why? Sisters before misters!” Ruby said as she rubbed her head where the wire had slammed into it.
Weiss was by her side in a flash only to be beaten to it by the new transfer student who helped Ruby up and snarked at her sister as Ruby flashed her a smile.
Right, that was why. She’d wanted to spend time with Ruby but the new transfer student had convinced Ruby to go for fun and she’d volunteered herself to go along to make sure the two didn’t get any closer. At least without her there. If it was all three of them that would be different.

He speculated, sometimes. The new owner seemed disinclined towards just freezing him when he wasn't useful, which made a sort of sense given the team's purpose as a rapid response force. That would mean lots of time for other uses, and the Avengers didn't seem to have any other assets to train or tests they wanted to run on him, which only really left one thing he was good for. So he trained as best he could with just the one arm, and while he trained, he speculated.

Steve blinks down at him. "What?" he says stupidly. What?
Eddie closes his eyes, a weak smile on his lips. "Something to remember me by."
"You're not dying," Steve says. It feels like his mouth isn't attached to his brain anymore; the inside of his head is a dial tone.
"Of course I am," Eddie says, eyes still closed. "I'm dying right now."
"You're not, though." His voice keeps getting higher, for some reason. "You're not going to die here."
"Spare me the pity, Harrington, I know—"
"You're literally not dying right now." His whole body is hot. Is he sweating? "You lost some blood but they didn't get deep enough—I looked—you're going to be fine."
There's a pause. "I'm going to be fine?" Eddie asks, voice also going high and thin. "You're—sure?"
"Yes."
"Fascinating. Great. Are you—could you do me a favor, then, and maybe just—leave me here anyway?"
"What?" Steve says. The dial tone gets louder. "No. Why?"
"No reason," Eddie says, voice tight.
