And the poor kid gets all of a day's notice, during which he's preparing to maybe die fighting his sister! Like, "this is your destiny, good luck, byeeee!" That ... doesn't match up to Iroh at literally every other time before that in canon.
I understand that there was originally supposed to be a season 4. That probably explains why the ending of Avatar the Last Airbender feels rushed in places, and there are a couple of loose threads that aren't tied off as well as one would expect from the quality of the writing of season 2 and early-mid season 3. Like Iroh and Zuko's destinies. Still frustrating, though.
