Comment on Only One Fish in the Apartment

  1. Can you imagine if everyone in the world had somebody who loved them like Sonny loves Rafael? I mean, you could probably write a term paper on potential symbolism and how to use a hand puppet to heal your lover from their broken childhood here. I just... Something in your writing always touches me in this very tender place. You're not afraid to allow the adults to let their child voices come through, and I think that's a brave way to write. Very brave. Thank you so much for gifting this to me, friend.

except ps now i want a piranha puppet.

    1. I'm all blushing here now, thank you so much! <3 :D That's the kindest thing to say; I think it's actually super healthy, what Raf is doing, he just doesnt realise it cause he's a 50sth-y/o tough guy from the Bronx ;). If they ever tell Dr Richard, he'll be SO proud, it'll fuel their role-playing for a month!

Ikr? I want one! There's only one online that I based Pablo on, and I fucking want that! Hihi.

Thank you so much again! Always.

      1. I have to tell you (and I guess anyone else who reads this--) when I was teaching I decided I was going to do puppetry. So I did. For years. And any adult watching could tell you I totally suck at it and I should never quit my day job because nobody else would ever pay me to do that. But here's the thing. Everyone six and under would tell you that I'm a rock star with a puppet on my hand--or actually, that the PUPPET is the rock star because I cease to exist once that puppet takes over. There's something magical that frees us when there's a puppet involved. I have a collection of puppets that have been gifted to me over the years, but I never have strong feelings for one until I've gotten to use it with a group of kids--then it develops into a character and we all grow to love it. And I absolutely believe that there is something hugely therapeutic in that--some people can really let things go with the use of puppetry. The way you allow these characters to play--to express their more vulnerable, less sophisticated selves--is so fucking beautiful. Okay, now i'm off to cry!

        1. Thank you!

I have to admit, I have a few Pablos in my life, I'm that kinda person; like, my oldest buddy of that kind def has the attitude issues of a certain piranha, too...

    2. Also, Sonny loves Raf so much, he obvly wears his socks, since he hasnt checked his own socks drawer for days... I get it, tho. Raf's socks are much nicer.

      1. Well. We all know a certain someone shares his clothes in real life, and shares his ties in fanfic, so I don't see a problem with delving into someone else's sock drawer (as long as they're clean, God help me). Not only are Raf's so much better quality (sooo soft on the feet!) but also he has the most fantastic patterns and such on each pair.

I mean, when I was a teenager I "borrowed" a pair of my dad's Gold Toe socks, and then I wondered why the world was so unfair and only made such soft, silky socks for business men.

        1. Raf does wear awesome socks. I fucking love the pics of them matching his tie/pocket square etc and then you realize they never even showed them in the ep, lol.

          1. Yep! Makes you wonder what else matches, doesn't it? Like, is Rafael Barba capable of dressing for work with boxer briefs that do NOT coordinate with his socks or his suspenders or his pocket square? That damn older lover. And I'm absolutely positive his handkerchiefs are embroidered with his initials. Not a doubt in my mind.

            1. Lol. Wait... are you quoting my story back at me? Lolz, now I'm confused.

              Comment Actions
              1. We had talked about how he had gotten busy with a professor at Harvard who taught him how to dress and then broke his heart. So that bastard was who I was referencing, if that makes sense...I get confused, lol!!!

                1. Oh! Yes! Hah. I used that in "a gentleman at breakfast", ;). Hihi, totes forgot we did. :)

                  1. I forget all the time and get confused on who I said what to or if I even said it out loud to anyone (or typed it!). Sigh.

I need a new prompt to fill. I want to write but can't figure out what I want to write about right now.

                    1. Drug&shnugg Raf! ;p

                      1. Wha-huh? Write a story about Rafi being on drugs and Sonny snuggling him?

I can only imagine how hard we would laugh if we tried to have a conversation in real life!

                        Comment Actions
                        1. We'd rock that!

Also, yes! Exactly that. How about we make it a challenge? Then I have an incentive to write h/c, too. :)

                          1. A challenge, haha! As long as there's two winners!

Is that the prompt? Rafael's on drugs and Sonny has to snuggle him? One chapter or less, I say! Will that work?

                            1. Everybody wins when you write something. :)

Yes, that's the challenge! :) I'm at a work conference right now till tomorrow, so might be slow posting, but I think I got an idea. :) Can't wait to read yours. :) :) One-shot sounds good. **thumbs up**
