    WOOOOOOOOW wow wow wow. Okay I don’t even know if I have the words to express how much I loved this, BUT I’M GONNA TRY.

    I started highlighting lines that I loved on my kindle and basically highlighted the entire thing??? UGH your writing is so incredibly beautiful. The world you created here is SO vivid and unique, I felt like I was stepping right into it.

    Your Lan Zhan!! I could feel his sadness and his desire for *something else* and his ABILITY TO DREAM! He is so noble, but so willing to try another way, and when he described himself as the Yiling Laozu’s student/follower/biggest fan I had to flop onto the floor for a moment.

    Your Wei Ying!! ALSO SO NOBLE IN HIS OWN WAY! I loved how he tried to keep Lan Zhan at an arm’s length as a way of protecting him, but I loved it even more when he finally let himself have what he wanted/deserved!! He deserves so much 😭

    The planetarium scene goes down in history as one of my favorite scenes in a fic, ever. What a genius idea to have Lan Zhan wish to see the stars, and for Wei Ying to take him there. I love how bold Lan Zhan was! THEY ARE SO SWEET!!!

    And then the end when Lan Zhan was on his knees begging...and Wei Ying said that he was the man he loved...my heart can’t take it!

    The overall concept of this fic just hits so hard. Your fics always send such a strong message about the state of world, and this one in particular just lit up my brain with the concept of *all* the sadness and pain that is out there, and how it impacts all of us over time. And the thought of Lan Zhan and Wei Ying maintaining the balance of energy and keeping the world safe...ahhhh. That is such a comforting thought.

    THANK YOU FOR WRITING AND SHARING THIS!!! I know I’m going to be thinking about it for quite some time. ❤️

    (Omg I almost forgot to mention the MOTORBIKE. THE MOTORBIKE CHANGED MY LIFE!)

      - I always feel like worldbuilding is not my strongest suit so hearing that it felt vivid is such a huge compliment
      - his desire for *something else* and his ABILITY TO DREAM! - Lan Zhan! Yes!!! This was a really fun thought experiment, wondering which aspects of his personality would be more felt if he did get a chance to grow up with his mother and have that kind of progressive, individuality-oriented influence, and it's exactly this, I think he would've allowed himself to want more for himself.
