    Yeah, exactly as you said! There are so many better ways the writers could do things, if they were just consistent, and actually gave a damn about the characters instead of having them change to fit the plot! I really enjoyed all the episodes that fleshed the characters out, even if they had other faults, because good characters can pull a bad plot, or allow me to ignore other problems (frankly, a show can be a bit terrible but still /fun/ if the characters are good), but all the backsliding and rubbish characterisation only makes me annoyed, and it makes it easier for me to see all the faults. Sorry for ranting a bit, but yeah I totally agree.
