“You’re going to be fine,” he repeated. “But I need to give you something that’s going to make you even sicker. Your body needs to purge the spores, so you’re going to get sick to your stomach. A lot. It’s going to get worse before it gets better, but I swear to you, it’s going to get better. Do you understand?”
All Tony really understood was he was sick, and Stephen was going to help him.
He didn’t really need to know anything else.
“I trust you,” Tony replied.
Tony gets sick after a mission. Stephen takes care of him. Rhodey notices a few things.

“Since when could you cook anyway?”Tony glared over at him, “Since always thank you very much.”
Stephen held his hands up in surrender, “all you ever eat is takeout.”
“Yeah well-” Tony began before cutting himself off, “okay fair point, but I can cook and I’m going to prove it to you, prepare to have your life changed.”
“That’s a lot of talk from someone who I’ve literally seen pick food off the floor to eat.”
“Ten second rule,” Tony shrugged completely unembarrassed, “you’re the one who fills his body with literal garbage.”
“I do not!” Stephen gasped out in indignation.
“Do too, don’t act as though I haven’t seen your sneaky McDonald’s trips so you can cut it with all that ‘my body is a temple nonsense.”
Stephen felt his cheeks heat, “In fairness, I didn’t think you knew about that,” he replied to which Tony practically beamed.

“Friday might go homicidal on us,” Sam whispered to Natasha, hoping Friday couldn’t hear him.“Nonsense. Friday is a delightful girl,” Vision said while entering the living room.
Steve was snuggled up against Natasha, not wanting to sleep alone in a new place.
“Being a delightful girl never stopped me from killing. It actually made it easier. No one expects a little girl to be an assassin.” Natasha was threading her fingers through Steve’s hair.
“I have no current plans to kill you all.” That was of little assurance.
“What about plans on killing everyone in this room, but Vision?” Natasha asked, picking up on Friday’s wording.
“Would you like me to lie to you, Ms. Romanov?” Friday’s voice was almost bubbly, making her somehow sound sinister.
“I assure you all that you are safe in Stark Manor,” Vision said, a hint of a smile on his face.
“And outside of the manor?” Natasha gave Vision a penetrating look.
“Friday is truly a delight.” Vision said nothing more as he left the room.

“I don’t know how to handle him,” Sam said into the phone.“And you think I do?” Rhodey snorted.
“You’re the one who has the most experience with him.”
“With sixteen-year-old, angry, wild Tony Stark. Not five-year-old, sugar high, Tony Stark.”
“He’s got himself a new best friend.”
There was a pause on the other end of the line.
“I’ll be right over.”

“Damn, you’re shorter than usual,” Rhodey said and Tony squawked.“Who are you?” Loki asked, pulling Tony into his arms.
“I’m Rhodey, the one who pulled Tony’s ass out of trouble since he was a scrawny sixteen-year-old.” Rhodey grinned down at Loki. “I’m also his best friend.”
Loki held Tony closer.
“No, Loki is my best friend, but…” Tony pursed his lips, pouting, “seeing you makes me happy.” Loki rested his chin on Tony’s shoulder, his eyes becoming dull. Tony seemed to sense the change. “You’re still my number one, Loki-Dokey.”
“You’re my number one too!” Loki squeezed Tony and lifted him up. Tony squirmed and Loki laughed.
“I hear you two have been making trouble.”
“My house, my rules.” Tony stuck his tongue out at Rhodey and Sam who was standing behind him.
“Exactly.” Tony looked up at him in surprise and Sam groaned. “I’m just here to scoop you up if your ass gets into the fire. If Loki is your friend, then he also falls under my protection.”
“We do not need your protection.” Loki glared at Rhodey.
“So you’re aware that Black Widow is still lurking around your house?”
Loki’s face turned red with embarrassment.
“Friday?” Tony asked, his eyes narrowed.
“Widening search.” There was a pause. “Natasha Romanov has been spotted in the southern gardens. Your orders?”
“You said you are on my side?” Tony asked, raising an eyebrow skeptically.

“They could also just leave Steve and Wanda here, but that would be inadvisable,” Friday added.Sam was scowling.
“Looks like you two got your underhanded methods from Tony.”
“Don’t diss our ‘methods’. We’re just trying to resolve this nonviolently. You asked for my help and I’m giving it.” Rhodey looked cocky.
“I meant convincing Tony to let Natasha stay.”
“Friday said Tony has his emotions, but not his memories. He feels that she hurt him, but he doesn’t have the memories on why he should tolerate that pain.”
“Stop talking about me like I’m not around,” Tony said in a whining voice. Rhodey smiled at him. Tony turned to Sam. “Chop-chop, Sammy, what’s your decision?”
“I’ll get Natasha to leave the property, but I can’t make her go beyond that.”
“So long as she doesn’t come back.” Tony gave him a hard look before grinning. “Come on, Loki! I want to show you a Disney movie!”

He’d fallen asleep as a kid and had woken up as an adult. Aches in his body that he hadn’t even known he had became apparent. Old age was a bitch on his joints.A huff came from beside him. Tony glanced over. Loki was looking at him with drowsy eyes. He was naked.
Their clothes had been ripped when Tony and Loki reverted back to their normal sizes.
Loki’s eyes widened as he sat up. He pulled the bedsheet around him to create a semblance of modesty. He looked frozen in his spot.
Tony grinned.

“We were friends,” Tony said and Loki seemed to crumble at the use of the past tense, “we are best friends, and I hope we can be more than that eventually.” Tony took Loki hand into his own. “I want to see where this takes us.” Tony kissed Loki’s palm. “If that’s alright with you?”

“Your wards?” he asked, momentarily baffled. “Oh, you mean your firewalls?” Okay, yes, so that was a good point. Still, Tony had thought this through. “Those were actually incredible, and I’d love to talk to whoever it was who coded those, but that’s beside the point. From what Stephen said, you aren’t the sort to hold something against Stephen that I did. If I showed up, it’d put Stephen in a tricky position. If I made a nuisance of myself without involving him, you might decide to… turn me into a frog, or whatever, but you wouldn’t punish him.”“I do not tend to engage in animal transformation as punishment,” the Ancient One said, tone something that might have been dry amusement. “And you misunderstand, those firewalls you speak of are magical structures we call wards.”
Tony stared at her, trying to make any sense of it. What? “Uh, sorry?” he asked. “I mean, it was a totally different coding language than anything I’d ever seen before, and it took some interesting finagling to fully connect, but it was code.” Or he’d thought it was.
The Ancient One just stared at him.
Tony shifted in a rare moment of discomfort. “Is that a yes on letting me come see Stephen?” he asked, because he didn’t exactly want to dwell on the fact that he’d hacked magic.

For a long moment the Ancient One didn’t answer, though her head tilted just slightly as she took him in. “Do you wish to bring him home with you, Mr. Stark?”Tony blinked, a little surprised. “No?” he said, more question than he intended it to be. “Why would I? If he’s where he wants to be then why would I want to take him from that? I’m kind of all in when it comes to Stephen. He’s got my full support for anything less than world domination.” And Tony was kind of on the fence about world domination. If Stephen had a good reason, Tony could probably be persuaded to support him in that, too.
Behind the Ancient One, Wong’s scowl totally flickered for amusement that was quickly covered up by an exasperated eye roll.
“I shall take that into account,” the Ancient One said. Tony had the strangest feeling she might have taken Tony’s comment about world domination a little more seriously than really necessary. “You may come visit, Tony Stark. But I wish for you to spend some time with me and our ward masters to discuss this newfound weakness in our wards.”
Tony wasn’t sure how helpful he’d be with that conversation, since he hadn’t realized what he was hacking had been magic. “Uh, sure. But just so you know, the chances of anyone else getting through those firewalls is pretty slim. I had to learn a whole new coding language from observation only. Also, I’m what some people would call ‘brilliant’ when it comes to coding.”
“Nonetheless,” the Ancient One said. “This is a fascinating development.” She arched an eyebrow. “And should you prove useful, we may find reason to have you visit more often.”
Well, Tony was officially invested in being the most useful source ever. And yes, Tony was totally aware that she was bribing him. Tony was totally okay with that. He could be very bribable at times. “I am great at being useful,” he told her.
