Summary
When Jared Freeman walked into Will Graham's high school and murdered their teacher, Will thought that his life was officially over. Haunted by dreams, remnants of the madness hooking into his skin, he finds himself turning to a student at George Washington University that claims to have insight into just what is going on inside of his mind.
Hannibal Lecter, up to his elbows in his final year of grad school, doesn't think he can cure Will Graham of his hyper-empathy, but he certainly can use him to finalize his thesis on the disorder. As long as Will Graham doesn't know the difference, everything should work out in the end.

He sat down on a large rock and watched, going completely still when a small doe came into view and walked into it, dipping her head to drink. He had a horrible, sinking feeling that he’d watch her only long enough for a hunter to show up and pull the trigger, and he wondered if that’s what his expectations of life were going to be from now on –holding his breath until someone came along to destroy something that he found beautiful. He coughed at the pressure building in his chest, and the doe gave a start, bounding away. She was safe for another day.
Really good! The only thing that make some sad is the sequel appears to be unfinished.

SOBBED. Multiple times. I haven’t read the tags because I like surprises so idk if a bad ending is tagged but omg. The worst heartbreaking ending I’ve read in a while. I love Will with my entire heart and omg I haven’t fell in love with an OC like that in forever. RIP CHARLIE. I’m genuinely still crying, a fic hasn’t made me hate Hannibal like this EVER. The quality of this fic is genuinely amazing, the story itself is amazing, I love all the original deaths, it was very on brand for the show. Jared felt like he came straight from the show and not a fic. Very good. I keep coming back to write more in this bookmark and this is genuinely great.
