Simon Quit Kicking Rocky

Chapter 23

Notes:

Just love the drama that is my grandparents and the people that marry into the family. And just the old people in general, because apparently inflation doesn't exist to them.

I think I enjoy trapping flies in my windows a little too much.

Chapter Text

Stratt can't find the vodka, or any alcohol for that matter. She's half tempted to threaten someone, though there's a good chance that it won't work because no one who works for her takes her seriously anymore. They still respect her of course, but they only listen half the time and quote Grace the other half. At least she doesn't have to worry about posting the logs anymore, they kept the internet connection between Earth and Erid a secret. Grace would be the one to post the logs now for Earth, after making sure nothing sensitive is released to the public.

-

The log starts up in Grace and Simon’s house. Simon is in the main view of the camera, he's working with some plants. He doesn't look up at the camera, likely not realizing that it's even on. Grace passes by in the background briefly before disappearing.

Simon starts humming while he works, the tune isn't familiar to anyone. Grace passes by again in the background, though this time he's got something in his hands. The scientist makes a detour over to Simon to get a kiss before making his way outside.

A bit of time passes before Simon looks up and sees that the camera is on. “Oh, uh. Hi.” He stands up and heads over to the window. “Ry, the camera turned on again!” You can’t really hear what Grace says in response.

A minute later Grace returns and waves at the camera. “Hello Earth! This is the first log that we can post, the Eridians got the internet working. So we can send things to Earth and you guys can send things to us.” Grace grins as he talks, Simon looks at the taller man with a soft smile as he speaks.

As Grace continues to talk, Rocky enters the house. He's wearing the form-fitting xenonite suit, there's nothing unusual until he turns and you can see googly eyes attached to the suit. Simon takes one look at Rocky and snorts, covering his mouth with his hand. Grace sends Simon a curious look before seeing the googly eyes and bursting out into laughter.

“Why Grace Simon laugh, question?” Grace is too busy laughing to respond, though Simon is able to get himself under control long enough to explain why. “It's the googly eyes.” Rocky is still confused, Grace is able to explain what googly eyes are to Rocky before laughing again as Rocky moves around.

-

The next scene shows Grace in the ocean of the biodome, he's swimming around while Rocky freaks out on the shore. Simon is just sitting on a rock with his tablet. “Humans can float, Rocky.” Simon doesn't even look up as Grace dips below the water for a bit and causes Rocky to freak more. “Rocky know that, statement!”

Simon finally looks up after a moment and sighs. “Ry! Time to come back!” It takes a bit for Grace to swim back to shore, once he's in reach Rocky starts fretting over him and trying to herd the scientist to the medical area. “I’m fine Rock. Humans swim all the time, it's healthy for us.” Rocky seems to calm down a bit but is still uneasy.

Simon throws a towel at Grace before getting back to his tablet. Once he's at a stopping point he sets it to the side and walks closer to Grace. Taking the towel and helping with drying his hair. The three spend a bit more time outside before heading in.

-

Of course everyone loves Rocky with googly eyes, and they're delighted that they can directly ask the two gay space men questions. There's also a post for a Q&A happening in a few days, mostly so they can make sure everything works fine during the live stream.

People are already putting in requests for what they'd like to see in future logs, including humans being weird to Eridians.

Notes:

I'd love any suggestions for Q&A questions the two could potentially answer.

On another note, I've had roughly three maybe four things of coffee, coffee place I go to accidentally made my drink twice so I had one for after class.

Notes:

I don't know anything about science, so if I ever update this, there will likely be more crappy sciencey stuff.

Also any spelling mistakes are between me, God, and my google doc.
