Neuvillette has a tendency to overwork himself, it’s not a surprise to anyone. Wriothesley learned this the hard way, when his close relationship with the Iudex started getting closer and he physically had to bring him away from his office on the nights they spent together.
He knows that he’s not that different from his now lover, and he maybe should think about his own habits when it comes to his job and the hours he spends bent on his barely lit up desk. He likes staying alone when it gets darker, though, it’s easy to concentrate and savor one of his favorite cups of tea.
But that morning something peculiar happens: Wriothesley wakes up first, a sturdy weight on his chest keeping him in bed, curiously. He looks a little around himself and realizes he’s in Neuvillette’s chambers, and the beautiful Chief Justice is snoring on him, a little bit of saliva wetting Wriothesley’s skin.
It would be all extremely domestic and cute, if Neuvillette wouldn’t be as hot as a furnace, his face red and something akin to a frown in between his beautiful eyebrows. He’s muttering something in his sleep, he’s probably uncomfortable Wriothesley realizes.
“Love?”
“Oh, why are you here, my darling?” Neuvillette’s head's a mess when he lifts it, his feline eyes so watery and a little red around the corners. He then groans a little and realises they’ve been together the night before, Wriothesley assumes, an amused smile on his lips.
“I think you’re getting sick, sweetheart.” Wriothesley murmurs and kisses Neuvillette’s indeed boiling forehead with tenderness and care. “I told you you should have rested more lately.”
Neuvillette sighs and looks a little guilty. “I suppose you’re right, dear.” He looks around himself a little and probably decides he wants to stay close to Wriothesley still, hugging him like his life depends on it.
Wriothesley doesn’t need him to say anything else. He kisses his lover’s bed head and tells him “I’ll take care of you today, don’t worry.”
Neuvillette smiles tenderly and promptly falls asleep on Wriothesley again.
