Chapter Text
Sometimes, typing out reports on your work computer gets boring doesn't it?
I can relate to that, I mean...working a regular 9 to 5, going home, eating dinner and droping dead asleep in bed everyday can get repetitive, and still I'm fine with that.
It's a bland and boring life, I won't deny, but hey- I'm making ends meet and I eat a good hearty meal everyday, so I'd say my life isn't so bad y'know?
But what doesn't sit right with me…is the fact that at 10 PM every night without fail, there will always be a sudden lawless zone out front of my apartment.
“It's Lizard!! Mom!! Lizard is outside!!”
“Sweetie don't lean too much out the balcony-”
I feel a headache coming as I clutch my pillow over my head and groan.
‘Everyday without fail….ugh…someone put me out of my misery…’
Hello, good evening, it's me, Kim Soleum. By day I work as your typical office worker, by night I'm the guy who's always made miserable by your favorite heroes fighting villains until 3 AM.
CRACK- BOOM!
I was miserable as I forced myself to sit up from bed and practically crawl towards the windows, my eyebags make my eyes feel so heavy and sleepy…
My eyes were hit by the bright lights of Host’s flames and that damn TV head of his- it's literally flashing a million angry emojis a minute!
‘It hurts to look at…seriously…can this guy walk around with an epilepsy warning atleast???’
And Lizard doesn't make it better, with that damn- creepy lizard mask-
‘Who the hell in Daydream took a look at that man’s costume and said “Looks amazing!! Totally amazing!! That's it- that's his costume!!”..?’
CRASH
I stared in resignation as I saw Lizard practically throw Host against the side of the apartment building.
‘Ahh…there goes my paycheck…these damn-’
And aside from Host's escape, rescue of the hypnotized civilians and that god forsaken 2 hour interview session Lizard was trapped in- in front of the apartment building with full camera flashes and everything.
6 AM rolls by, and my alarm clock rings, and my eye twitches.
‘Not a wink of sleep again…’
I drag my sleep deprived self upwards and look in the mirror.
‘These eyebags stack more than my savings…’
By 7 AM, I'm already done getting ready for work, be punctual and commute until 8 AM, be early for work until it starts at 9 AM. Extra hour? I'll think about what to have for lunch, or maybe scroll on HeroStar’s news site.
And then work from 9 to 5, typing out reports on my work computer, an occasional distraction when a new article gets posted on HeroStar or if my boss decides to make my already miserable life a tad bit more worse by sending me to meet with sponsors.
Anyhow, in the end of the day, I'll be able to clock out on time, go home, eat dinner, and drop dead asleep until 10 PM when-
“Mooommm!!!! It's Bronze and Tiger!!! Momm!!”
“Oh my…I told you to stop leaning against the railing-”
I smile resigned and helpless as I close my eyes trying to ignore the sound of ringing bells and the overenthusiastic almost flamboyant laughter from Tiger.
‘It’s alright Soleum, remember, your life's not that bad…’
As if on cue, a jakkdu comes crashing through my balcony window and lands straight through my apartment's wall.
‘These damn-’
