Malleus had known that fae had better senses than humans for a long time. He had better night vision due to his nocturnal nature, and more sensitive hearing. Though, he had never been more aware of it than after he had taken Yuu as his mate. He would try to point something out during their nightly walks, and they would be unable to see it. He would hear the call of distant animals, and Yuu’s ears wouldn’t so much as twitch. It did cause Malleus to fret a bit, perhaps more than he should have. He kept his guard up so that he could protect Yuu if they didn’t react to danger in time. He wouldn’t be able to bear it if something happened to Yuu.
However, that didn’t mean he was one edge all the time. No, no, only when he and Yuu were in an unsecure location. When he and Yuu were in either Ramshackle or Diasomnia, he was able to relax fully, and focus completely on them. It was nice to let go of being alert and just enjoy his time with his mate. It was during one of these evenings, that Yuu came to him with a request. They wanted to try something new, and they presented him with a cloth blindfold.
“I thought it might be fun to try.” Yuu said. “The idea is that if you can’t see, you can focus more on the sensation of touch. And I was thinking…can I be the one in charge tonight?”
“Of course, my treasure. Let us try it out.” Malleus replied. He was used to taking the lead, but if his dearest wanted to take charge, who was he to deny them? He kneeled on the bed, and allowed Yuu to blindfold him. The cloth was soft, and surprisingly thick enough to block his vision completely. His ears twitched as he heard Yuu’s footsteps move around him. Even though he could tell their location, he couldn’t tell what they were doing. He startled slightly when they touched the collar of his shirt, as he wasn’t expecting it. Yuu began to unbutton it, and Malleus brought his hands up to assist them. With his shirt removed, he leaned back on the bed. Yuu climbed onto the bed in front of him, kneeling between his legs.
“Just touch for tonight, is that okay? ‘M not really in the mood to go all the way.” Yuu said.
“That’s perfectly alright, my love. We can make love another night, perhaps.” Malleus replied.
Yuu hummed in acknowledgement, and then leaned over to kiss Malleus’s neck. The moment their lips made contact with his skin, it was like lighting. Their touch was almost electric. Malleus shivered slightly in pleasure. It seems that the blindfold really was increasing his sensitivity. He scooted a bit closer to Yuu, attempting to nuzzle into them. Yuu chuckled a bit, and began scratching at his scalp like he were a cat. Malleus would never admit it if asked later, but he did start purring. Yuu continued petting him, stroking his hair, and running their hands along his spine. Some spots would draw soft noises from Malleus, and Yuu would make sure to pay special attention to those. The base of his tail seemed to be a particularly sweet spot, making Malleus whimper and moan, and causing his tail to curl.
Yuu whispered soft praises as they continued to lavish Malleus with attention. They pressed kisses to Malleus’s exposed skin. They trailed the kisses up his neck to his earlobe. In a moment of impulse, they nipped at his pointed ear. It drew a loud, keening moan from him, one that seemed to surprising them both. Yuu dissolved into a fit of giggles, and Malleus puffed his cheeks and pouted, removing his blindfold.
“Sorry, sorry! I’m not laughing at you, it just caught me by surprise. I’ve never heard you get that loud before.” Yuu gasped from between laughs.
“Ah, what a cruel partner I have. To mock me when I’m vulnerable, after indulging in their request, no less.” Malleus teased, with mock despair.
“Aww, my poor, sweet dragon! Will cuddles make it up to you?’ Yuu teased back.
Malleus wrapped his arms around Yuu and pulled them close. Yuu snuggled into his chest, resting their head under his chin. They were happy to have a partner like Malleus, someone they could trust and be silly with. Someone they felt completely safe with. They fell asleep in his arms, completely content.
