Fear the Yiling Patriarch - A Halloween Special

Summary:

Wei Ying just wanted a normal Junior year of high school. He wanted to hang out with his best friend Lan Zhan, play music, avoid his little brother Jiang Cheng, protect Wen Ning from the annoying jock group, and party with his best friend Wen Qing. But the universe was never very good at giving him what he wants. Especially since Lan Zhan (who he is also hopelessly in love with) abandoned him to the cushy town of Yunmeng. Now alone and miserable, Wei Ying has to face the reality of Yiling, where nothing good ever happens. You either die or go crazy. No one ever really escapes Yiling. But after another Yiling slaughter at the local mall, things seem to spiral out of control. Not only is Lan Zhan forced to be around Wei Ying, he also finds himself being stalked by undead killers. Can their friendship survive this turmoil? And more importantly, can Wei Ying and his friends survive the night?

Jiang Cheng claims the curse of the Yiling Laozu had struck the town yet again. But unbeknownst to the group of teenagers, not everything is as it seems.

Well! Here we are. The Halloween Special fic that has taken me several months to write (though at the point of writing this intro I'm about 2/3 done and have a bunch to write and edit lol I got sidetracked with my silly goofy modern AU's). I lost sleep, sanity, and one laptop to this. I hope you enjoy?

 

Background:

Earlier this summer I was thinking about how I could do a horror movie fusion for MDZS, in "honor" of Wei Wuxian's Halloween birthday, and also I love the fall/Halloween season. That's when it hit me. The fear street trilogy! This awesome trilogy on Netflix is an amazing work that features queer love/characters, interesting family dynamics, off-screen villainy, and more. It was perfect. So without further ado, here is my Fear Street/MDZS fusion.

Insert disclaimer about how I don't own any of the original Fear Street trilogy or characters and this work is just heavily inspired by it and lovingly remixing it for the sole purpose of fandom enjoyment.

Things to keep in mind:

This is not entirely canon to the original Fear Street trilogy, nor is it entirely canon to MDZS. It is heavily inspired by the works of both series, but the combination of the two worlds created their own strange world.

Words of caution:

This is a story based on splatter films. It is mostly Explicit due to the nature/level of violence depicted in the chapters. This is not recommended for minors nor anyone with aversions to violence, gore, or with any triggers related to the above tags. Unfortunately I don't think I can tag every single trigger per chapter at the moment, so please keep in mind the tags I've listed above.

There are no sexually explicit scenes between characters who are minors.

Updates:

New chapters will be posted daily barring any unusual life events or circumstances (such as another laptop kicking the bucket)! Some chapters are very short, some are longer. I had snapshots in my mind of the scene breaks, so apologies for inconsistency.
