Summary
Ghouls went extinct decades ago. When humans developed quirks and ghouls didn't, it didn't take long for self-defense to turn deadly, and then for self-defense to become hunting parties. Ghouls nowadays were nothing more than a legend, a horrific footnote in the annals of history. At least, that's what's considered common knowledge. People like Midoriya Izuku know better. He knows better because, like his parents before him, he is a ghoul. A depressing existence sure, full of guilt and deception and constant fear, but at least he has his mother. Still, none of that will stop him from becoming a hero. Despite his nature, Midoriya has always wanted nothing more than to save the people he was born to kill. So he will fight tooth and nail to remain gentle and kind in the face of his long-time greatest enemy, his own instinct.
