Jay can't dodge this one. Mrs. Johnson is turning seventy-five and she wants her entire family to spend half of December together. They've rented two massive cottages in a fancy winter resort four hours north of Toronto. Maybe, maybe, if he and Matt weren't getting married, he could duck out of it. He tries to wipe the blood off on his shoulder and succeeds in smearing it across his lips, over his left cheek. It keeps dripping like a leaky faucet.

"Actually you know what, look up at me for this one, yeah, yes, exactly." Matt is still standing and Jay is sitting, he cranes his neck up to look at Matt's face. Jared snaps another picture and Jay instantly feels his pulse quicken for reasons he can't quite explain.
"That's the spirit Jaybird! Let's keep it right there, perfect." Jay can't help but light up under the praise. The camera goes off as soon as Matt returns the smile.

“You’re gonna wake him up,” you hissed softly.
Matt rolled his eyes. “Hey, Jaybird,” he said loudly, looking behind him at the still-sleeping Jay. “I’m gonna fuck (Y/N) on the couch here. Is that alright with you?”
Your stomach flipped, sure Jay was going to wake up and start freaking out, but he simply muttered in his sleep and shifted so his head slumped forward a little more. Matt turned back to you, his eyebrows raised, his expression very clearly indicating he told you so.
