It's suppose to be a fresh start, away from Syngorn and his father. Where Vax could finally be himself, and make new friends, go to parties, and have lots of regrettable sex.
Until his new room mate moved into the dorm room with him, bringing with him his fancy accent, pompous glasses, and boyfriend who looked ready to kill anyone who looked at him wrong.
And so Vax felt that his first year at university was going to straight to hell in a very fancy speaking handbasket, whilst falling a little more each day for his white haired room mate.

So when his obsession with the Feywild had started at 11, manifesting in endless questions about fey creatures and ancient pacts, they had bought him leather-bound tomes with gilded pages, they had let him trawl dusty book shops and shadowy corners of traveling markets, his eyes gleaming at each new acquisition. This could have been considered their first mistake.
Percy is dying, cursed with a very old elven soulbond. He's decided to make his last year of life as fun as possible. And so he ends up in Rhodes. Not a bad place to spend the last four months of his life.

Summary
Coming off of the worst summer possibly had by anybody who's ever been alive ever, Occtis hopes that finally enrolling in college with his best friend will give him the fresh start he's been dreaming about.
Unfortunately for him, he gets tricked into swapping dorms and ends up with an entirely different slew of problems in the form of a heartbroken, vindictive senior who won't shut up about sports.
But anywhere is better than back home, and Occtis can probably deal with this while still keeping his ideal college life and integrity intact.
