Reuenthal had seen Leigh at the convocation dinner, seen his head tilted back to the ceiling, seen his throat bared— vulnerable— and thought, “So, this is the number two.”

After that he frame Cale for assassination and thus Cale lost his life to the executioner's blade. Not only he killed Cale but afterward he also assassinate Alberu, making himself the sole monarch of Roan Kingdom.
That's when the protagonist, Choi Han entered the story and saved the kingdom from ruin.
