But these… Fangs as long and as sharp as the ones Dan saw in his own reflection, these were Alpha’s fangs. Fangs that are meant to bite and to claim.

The two of them have history — a lot of it. Stalkers, birthdays, suicide attempts and radio shows. Laughter, tears, codepency, growth. Much time has passed since they decided to put an end to all that.
When Dan’s manager persuades him to go on Phil’s podcast in order to promote his new tour, the both of them reconnect, just as Dan is contemplating a public coming out. Meanwhile, having once again broken up with someone who wasn’t quite the one, Phil is starting to believe he might just not be made for relationships.
Phil loved him a lot. A lot, a lot. You look nice today. You’re so funny. Let me touch you. Kiss me, fuck me, I love you. These are things he used to hear every day. They would call each other names until one of them ran out of steam and had to say I love you. Fuck. That prickling feeling behind his eyes again.
