Summary
Day Three: Inexperience
Four days.
Four days and five hundred kilometers. It doesn’t take away the shaking, the nausea, the dread. The images, flashing in Akira’s brain like a bullet. The dreams.
He’s here, but distant. Goro sleeps beside her in each hotel room they’ve paid for, buys cigarettes and food when they stop for gas, sits in the front of his motorcycle as they drive. Moves his handgun around to tuck into the side of his belt, so it wont dig into her stomach as she presses against his back. But he hasn’t kissed her. Not since they left.
Barely even touches her. She’s caught him looking. Eyes deep and heavy, perhaps with pity, perhaps with longing. Always so hidden inside his own head.
Akira just wishes Goro would say something.

Summary
“Give me your gun Akechi,” Shido says, beckoning him.
“I don’t…why do you want it?”
“Do I need a reason to do anything, boy? Do I need to tell you anything? Give me the fucking gun.”
Goro fidgets with the buttons of his blazer so he can reach for the pistol in the shoulder holster beneath. It’s not usually how he carries it; the compact size of the gun visible depending on how he stands. But he’s been paranoid, wanting to have its comforting weight as close to him as possible. He pulls it out and holds it limply, making sure the safety is still on. Goro could shoot Shido now, get some semblance of revenge before he can ever reach his height. He’s a perfect shot but can’t bear the thought of accidentally hitting Ren. Uncertainty freezes him into inaction.
“I didn’t think you were this stupid, Akechi. Come here.” Shido punctuates the last word by pressing his hand into Ren’s bruise, the one prominent on his cheek. Ren cries out and tries to pull away, but Shido just tightens his grip on his throat.
Perhaps, if he had just gone along with the intended plan, Akechi could have avoided this fate.

Dazai’s tongue swipes his bottom lip as his finger completes the same motion with the gun’s safety. Both dangerous in their own right. Both weapons with deadly aim.
“Then run.”
Dazai and Chuuya play a game of tag. Port Mafia rules apply. Results may vary.
