Summary
Xie Lian, a rogue merman, suffers a heat while on his way to visit that lovely man in red who always waits for him by the docks…
——
“There was a strong crossbreeze which ran parallel to the coastline; Hua Cheng likely could not yet detect Xie Lian’s scent. And, cloaked in sand and shadows, he also likely could not make out the nature of Xie Lian’s condition.
To Xie Lian however, Hua Cheng was what he was, clearer than the water of a fresh raindrop.
An alpha.”

Summary
A shadow falls across Xie Lian’s face for a moment, and then the sound of knees hitting the stone rings out in his ears. When he opens his eyes, Hua Cheng is kneeling before him, bent as if in supplication.
“This lowly servant begs His Highness the Crown Prince to grant him a wish,” he says. There’s a tone to his voice that takes Xie Lian’s breath away, full of reverence, but when Hua Cheng chances to look up at Xie Lian’s face from where he’s prostrating before him, there is a wicked curve to the shape of his mouth, a glint in his eye.
At Qiandeng Temple, Xie Lian experiences more than one kind of worship.

“If you act out like a brat, Lao Wen, I will treat you like one,” Zhou Zishu replies coolly. “Now go or I will put you there.”
Wen Kexing gives him an icy little smirk that probably has sent lesser men running. “I would like to see you try.”
Zhou Zishu is not lesser men. He pushes himself upright. “As you say.”
Sometimes Wen Kexing has trouble asking for what he needs, sometimes Zhou Zishu has trouble offering it. Sometimes Wen Kexing makes it impossible for Zhou Zishu to give him anything less than exactly what he deserves.

Summary
With his head still turned, it was easy to see that Shen Qiao had that familiar furrow between his brows. “Perhaps…Yan-zongzhu will show mercy.”
“A-Qiao… When have I ever shown you mercy?”
The corner of Shen Qiao’s mouth flickered, as if he was deciding between a smile and a frown. Yan Wushi knew that couldn’t be it. Who would smile at a time like this? To prove him correct, Shen Qiao sighed and frowned, and his eyes fell closed. Eyelashes brushed his cheeks, so long and gorgeous. Yan Wushi plucked at Shen Qiao’s lower lip.

Summary
“Watch the road,” Zhou Zishu says, his face warmer than he wants it to be, thankful for the car’s dim interior. “You won’t get anything from me if you wrap us around a pole.”
“True,” Wen Kexing agrees sagely, his eyes turning dutifully forward. “There is only one pole here I’d like to wrap something around.”
Zhou Zishu is startled into an unfortunate bark of laughter. Wen Kexing grins like he won something. Smug bastard.
“Shut up,” Zhou Zishu says. “Just don’t talk again until we get there.”
Days before Zhou Zishu puts a plan in motion that will implode his life and probably kill him, he spends a lost weekend with a man he meets at a bar.
A year later, their paths cross again.
