"Every morning before work, Hermione Granger spent almost an hour making herself presentable. And by presentable, she meant turning herself into a properly unkempt cat lady.
She matted her hair into a bird’s nest, grew her eyebrows into bushy, overgrown hedges, and spelled temporary rosacea across her otherwise clear skin. She dressed accordingly.
All the cute, fitted clothes were left for weekends in Muggle London. During the week, she wore oversized shirts and drab brown robes. Not dirty — she couldn’t bring herself to stoop that low, even though it would certainly help keep the admirers away — but smelling faintly of mothballs and lemon drops.
