Summary
After embarking on a grueling journey, Stan Marsh finds himself in a secluded house on the shores of a small Island in New Jersey, where he encounters Kyle Broflovski, his old childhood friend who had moved to New York for college and whose face he hadn't seen in three years. As his mother, Sheila Broflovski, had requested, Stan sets out to help Kyle recover from his illness so he can return to normal and reconnect with his loved ones who long for his visit in colorful Colorado. However, as the weeks pass, Stan realizes he had underestimated his old friend's mental decline and that he may be hiding something far more sinister.

One of the best fanfics I’ve read recently ❤️ as someone who had to read Frankenstein for a college essay i can say that this story integrated the plot and themes perfectly into the storyline 😳 ps bonus points for the psychological horror theme, always a treat! My heart aches for doomed love 💔

The words are garbled together, fast and breathless, but Stan still catches them.
What?
“What?”
He finds Kyle’s viridian gaze through the sudden blur that encapsulates the corners of his vision. His face is still as red as his hair, but his lips are pursed and his eyebrows are knit together in the middle, not quite certain and not quite uncertain.
“Do you wanna try kissing?” Kyle asks again. Then, almost rushed, he adds, “Each other. Kissing…each other.”
Or, Kyle asks Stan to be his temporary practice-kissing buddy. None of it goes according to plan.

Except, Shuichi can’t control his. And it’s painful - excruciatingly painful.
Names, birthdays, loved ones, lost ones, dinner plans, favourite Netflix shows - all echoing from the people around him non-stop, overlapping and resounding within his skull. Shuichi just wants one moment of goddamn quiet.
He gets what he wants, in completely inconvenient circumstances.
By the process of elimination, it could be deduced that the boy with the choppy purple hair and crocodile tears was the only possible culprit.
But Shuichi can’t prove it. Because there was no reading Kokichi Ouma’s tangled up mind.

Which, to be fair, isn't far off from the large bleeding gash on his head. It makes his head go all wormy.

Saihara confessed to Ouma more as a bucket list thing - something to do to celebrate graduating, or to get Harukawa off his back - than ever thinking Ouma reciprocated. He was red-faced, sweating and stuttering.
And Ouma said yes, his eyes lit up like the billions of stars in the galaxy; something to cherish, something beautiful.
Saihara should've known better - Ouma was like the universe, expansive, breathtakingly pretty. Even when he was in his grasp, it felt like he didn't know him at all.
That's why it didn't last.
