Summary
Arthur witnessed Merlin's stand off against Agravaine. The question is only, if a traitor of Camelot defeats a traitor of Camelot, what is Merlin's motif? And if his devotion to Arthur is actually genuine, then what does that mean for Camelot?
In truth, none of these (very reasonable) questions matter anymore when Arthur realises he has a massive crush on Merlin.Series

Summary
With slow movements, cautious of the guards appointed outside his door, the dark-haired crown prince stood from his desk, carefully rolling the letter in his hands as he rose. He grabbed a ribbon from the corner of his desk, and tied it around the rolled parchment. Then, assuring its tightness was sufficient, he walked to the curtained window, socked feet quiet on the hard floor.
A cough from outside his chamber’s doors had Merlin freezing in his tracks as he raised a hand to open his curtains. Shuffling from the guards had him holding his breath, anxious anticipation suffocating him.

Summary
“No,” he pleads. "Father, please. Merlin is not to blame for anything. I’ll accept any punishment you want to give me, but please..." he can't lose Merlin again. He can not.
Uther seems to sense his anguish, because a bit of bewilderment creeps into his harsh expression.
“What is it about this boy?” There's a dangerous suspicion in the king's voice. “He makes my son risk his life and the lives of his knights for him. And the Great Dragon, for some reason, keeps him alive and uses him as a hostage. Why?" he walks towards the prince almost threateningly. “What else are you hiding from me, Arthur?” he demands, his eyes growing colder.

Summary
After Arthur disobeyed his father and retrieved the Mortaeus flower for Merlin's cure, Arthur's frantic pleading to save Merlin led to a misunderstanding that actually convinced Uther to take the flower to Gaius.
Now all Arthur has to do is explain to Merlin why Uther thinks they are lovers.
And while Uther is supportive of the relationship, he requires it kept secret. But in his paranoia, Uther misinterprets every innocent interaction between the two as something far more intimate, to the embarrassment of everyone involved.
And then the knights begin showing up...

Summary
“Don’t name him,” Arthur says, though not unkindly. He’s trying to spare future pain, but it’s far too late; Merlin is already in love.
“Yes, my lord,” Merlin lies, as always. It is a long night, and he sleeps in tiny fits on the floor. His bed, the warmest place in his little room, clear of the chill stone of the keep, has been completely taken over. Bits of milk are fed to the puppy with a clean rag, taking ages to get even a sip in the fussy thing. “You really are just like Arthur, you know,” he says to the dog. “You need such an awful lot of attention.”
