    Noctis wasn't a fool; he knew Prompto had a habit of lying misdirection. Like they always had, the two danced around one another: Noctis lacked the words to articulate his concern, fumbling awkwardly as he tried to understand; Prompto would simply offer a sanguine grin as he skipped out of reach. He caught Noctis looking at him intensely at times, not staring but rather searching, as though he were a puzzle he couldn't figure out. Prompto's answer was a toothy grin and chipper wave, as if he didn't know precisely the question dancing on the tip of his friend's tongue.
