With nothing better to do than to let his thoughts chase themselves in catastrophising circles (don’t think about Eleanor and Lettie and how they’re getting on, don’t think about Quincy and if he got out before the tank got there, don’t think about Amir failing to stop the reactor exploding, don’t think about-), Arthur half-turned to keep Umbra in his periphery, tapping his index finger against the trigger guard of his rifle.
This was their future, if Marty’s very hasty and sporting gaping holes story was anything to go by.

It wasn't just Drifter sent back to 1999. Umbra was taken along for the ride too as back up that Drifter can rely on... too bad it didn't change anything on that disastrous New Years Eve, but it sure adds some new and interesting dynamics amongst the Hex while they wait out the timeloop.

The process of having his armor removed was much the same as when Dee had installed the mods in his legs, except this time, Dee’s hands deliberately massaged his inner thighs before starting to pry up his armor there. When they cut away at the fascia, they playfully snipped at his other armor plates, and once the armor was removed and secured out of the way, they indulgently slid their lubricated hands up and down his techrot muscles until he squirmed in the chair.
