A decade ago, Wednesday Addams and Tyler Galpin bound their souls together. For practical reasons, of course.The arrangement was simple: she is his master, he is her monster, and under no circumstances were they to end up living a quarter mile apart in suburban New Jersey. They had an agreement—distance, new relationships, a healthy dose of denial. Two people like them had no business playing with fire.
Then Tyler Galpin moved in next door.
Now there’s a string of arsons cropping up around town and a bond behaving in ways neither of them agreed to. It’s beginning to seem like the perfectly logical lives they built are only kindling ready to burn.

He was met only with the fiery glower of Enid Sinclair, who seemed utterly unbothered that her sparkly eyeshadow was smudged and leaking glittery tears down her cheeks.
“Please,” she said, her voice flat. A drip of water hung from her full bottom lip. “The only thing you’d need a Girl Scout for is to dismember her and her inane sash of community-service badges… Hyde.”
She spat out the last word with a raised eyebrow, issuing it like a dare.
He tucked in a grin. “I’ve actually gone cold turkey on Girl Scout murder,” he remarked. “Know someone whose uncle served time for exactly that crime.”

Her fingers tangle up through his curls before yanking backward. His neck arches, showing the outline of his Adam’s Apple as it bobs in a slow swallow.
“You’re the most wicked thing in his entire cursed school.” It was supposed to come out as a growl. A snarl, even. Instead, it’s all breathy, strained.
Tyler’s smile only grows. “Compliments as foreplay?” His thumb reaches to rest atop the shelf of her hips. “You must really want to get off that naughty list, cockroach, don’t you…”

Summary
Tyler follows Isadora Capri to the Hyde colony in a last ditch effort to stay alive, sane and masterless. Wednesday tracks Enid to the nearby forest. When they meet once again, they reluctantly join forces. Tyler might not see eye to eye with the colony on everything, but he is determined to find a way to keep his sanity intact without a master. Slowly, he starts to claw his way out of the madness.
