Maekar scowled. “Do not put words in my mouth, boy. I never said that.”
“I know you don’t think much of me, but… is it so entirely impossible for you to pretend that you love me? Even just a little?” Daeron whispered, and when he looked back at Maekar, his eyes were glassy with unshed tears.

Summary
After Maegor the Cruel's death Balerion flew off to the East, never to return to Westeros, said to go back to the place of his birth, to die among the carnage left after the Doom.
Nearly two centuries later Daeron the Drunken dreams of a great black dragon descending upon Ashford, wings so large their shadow shallows the meadow, and he feels mostly Dread. What else could he feel? The Dreams are never kind and he's sure that this one too is the sign of an impending tragedy.
But sometimes Dreams are more literal than one used to omens would think.

Fresh out of rehab and ousted from his father's good graces, Daeron has spent the last six months avoiding anything to do with the name Targaryen. But after a series of threats against his family, he has to once again step into the tangled web of life as a Targaryen to do the only thing he's ever been good at. Protect his brother. He just didn't realize that serving his family would include living down the hall from the very tall, very attractive man hired as Egg's personal bodyguard.
